When
can the job begin?
We start our jobs on a first
come first serve basis. We keep an on-going list of
awarded jobs.
The last painter we hired
would work for a few days, then they would leave for
a couple days. Always starting and stopping.”
Will you stay on the job once you begin?
Yes. We'll stay with the
project and work until your painting is completed.
The same crew leader will work on your job from start
to finish because we assign different crews to different
jobs.

Who does the painting/paperhanging?
We have a staff of 8-10
full-time painters. All the painters are employees
of Pinon Painting, LLC. We do not use subs.
The Final Coat Inc. uses the
"Lead Painter" system. Each of our Lead
Painters manages a set crew of 1-2 painters. Although
crewmembers change from time to time, the continuity
this system offers has many advantages. For example,
they are more productive and efficient as a team because
they understand each other's styles and skills.
Supervision and quality control is very important
to us. Every crew has a Crew Leader who in charge
of the project. He/She does daily inspections of the
project. Jimmy Cordier (owner) will visit your project;
he will maintain quality and oversee the operations
of the job.
Who
will supervise the job?
Answer here..
Do you have references?
Yes, our references are
available upon request. In addition to our customer
references, Pinon Painting is proud to be a part of
Bureau of Workers Compensation's Drug-Free Work Place
Program. Our reputation means everything to us, which
is why we have a thorough new-hire screening process,
including a detailed background check.
What kind of paint do you
use?
We use Dunn-Edwards, Benjamin
Moore and Sherwin Williams most of the time. Sometimes
customer preference, the nature of the job and other
factors warrant other brands. Whichever brand we use,
we make certain it's the best that manufacturer offers
and appropriate for your project.
About 90% of the time we use
the highest quality paint. However, the brand of paint
we use can be influenced by other factors including
customer preference, the nature of the project, and
other bid specifications.
Are your
painters fully insured?
Our insurance includes general
business coverage, with General Liability, Bonding
and Worker's Compensation policies.
Can
you help with other things besides painting, like
wall and ceiling repairs, wallpaper, tiling or carpentry?
We have the ability to do light carpentry, drywall
repair and wood replacement when required. Also, we
can do tile repair, grouting and caulking. We also
do gutter cleaning and pressure washing.

I’ve had bids before
that are high, low and all over the place. Why?
The level of thoroughness,
attention to detail, and quality desired, usually
determines the cost of a job. For example, it costs
more to properly prepare a surface for painting than
to give it the "quick once over. We would be
happy to review, in detail, our calculations for your
project so you can make a fair comparison with other
bids.
What's the difference between
a good paint job and a bad one?
A good paint job requires
an extensive knowledge of different painting techniques
and materials, and the skill and commitment to go
with it:
Not cutting corners. Preparation.
Preparation. Preparation. And finally, budgeting enough
time to do the work properly.
Do you have a warranty?
Yes, a one-year
limited warranty on most work. We follow the AZ ROC
Warranty Program.
What size, type jobs do
you specialize in?
We will do about
any size project. We estimate a project if it's over
$500.00, if it's under $500.00 then we will do the
job on a time and materials basis. If you would like
an estimate for a project that is under $500.00, we
will be happy to do that for a fee of $45.00.
Does someone have to remain
home while the painting is being done?
No. This presents
no problem whatsoever for us. We normally arrive on
the job before you need to leave for work and special
arrangements can always be made to pick up a key ahead
of time if needed. We have never had a problem when
it comes to the trustworthiness of our painters. Your
home will be respected the same as it would be if
you were there. However we also realize that many
people are uncomfortable with leaving workmen in their
house unattended. We understand this hesitancy by
some and are not offended by that.

What do I have to do in
order to get ready for the painters?
When we come in to paint
your home we are expecting to handle everything ourselves.
We move all of the furniture into the middle of the
room. All furniture and belongings are carefully covered
and all floors are protected with the proper drop
cloths during painting. The only items we ask the
customer to move are the small knick- knacks, pictures
and light window treatments and curtain type items.
Upon completion of the painting we will place all
furniture back in the location that it was removed
from.
How often should you have
to paint the interior?
Many factors can contribute
to that.
1. The quality of the paint used
is of the utmost importance.
2. The amount of traffic through
a particular area.
3. Whether or not there are smokers
in the home.
4. Is there a fireplace that
is used on a regular basis during the winter months,
and does the damper work properly?
5. How many children and their
ages?
There are too many factors to
take into consideration, and each home can be different.
However a good quality job done by a professional
crew under normal conditions should last anywhere
from 6-10 years. Call us and we will be happy to evaluate
your particular situation and offer you a more precise
answer.
What kind of surface preparation
is done?
Most surface preparation
will be done based on your individual expectations.
We can do as much or as little as you like. Preparation
is a major part of your painting investment and we
want to deliver what you expect. Although, there are
some preparation steps that we will not skip.
All exterior surfaces will be
washed and peeling areas will be scraped. If you wish,
we can sand peeling edges and caulk as needed.
All interior surfaces will
have adjacent surfaces protected and necessary steps
taken to ensure adhesion. Further preparation will
be based on your desires.

How many painters will be
in my home?
While every job
is different normally you can expect a crew of 2-3
painters.
What if I don't like the
color I picked?
We want you happy upon the
completion of your job. But regardless of the quality
of work done, if at the completion you are unhappy
with the color you choose, you most likely will not
use our company again. Every painting contractor has
had a job where the customer liked the quality of
work, the crew and everything about the company but
they were unhappy with the colors used and now their
whole perspective is clouded and they view the job
as a bad experience. After selecting a painting contractor,
the selection of colors to be used is the next most
important decision that you need to make. Take your
time on color. Ask for color charts ahead of time
and buy a quart or so of paint to try it on a couple
of different areas of your home as well as in different
types of lighting if you feel you need to. The cost
of a few samples of paint is much cheaper than repainting
a room or entire house if you end up unhappy with
the color chosen.
How do I get an estimate?
You may request
an estimate by clicking and completing our estimate
request form or you can call us at 928-772-2888. If
you complete the estimate request form, someone will
call you to arrange a convenient time to meet. Normally,
estimates are scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30
p.m. Monday through Friday. There are limited night
and weekend appointments available. Upon special request
we may arrange to meet early in the morning.
My friend has this color
in their house that I like, can I use it in my house,
and will it look the same?
We can get the
same color, but keep in mind that every house is different
and the color may not look the same or have the same
effect in your home as it does in theirs. Find out
from your friend what the color is and get a sample.
Paint an area approx. 6' x 6' in a few different sections
and check how it will look in your home. Lighting,
carpet, furniture and other factors may give it a
different look in your home.
I have some cracks that
always reappear is there anything we can do?
Cracks can always
be repaired and regardless of the preparation done
some may reappear. Paint and patching compounds cannot
hold two surfaces together. We will do our best to
give you a longer lasting repair.
We have drywall damage...
Do we need to have that repaired before the painters
come?
Our painters are
experienced in drywall repair and replacement. Virtually
any repairs that need to be made can be done as part
of the preparation work we do prior to painting.
How
long should I wait before cleaning my windows after
painting?
We always recommend waiting 30-days before
allowing any cleaning agents to come in contact with
the new paint. Paint dries in a matter of a few hours
but all paint goes through a curing process, which
takes longer.

What happens if I contract
with someone who is not properly insured and one of
their workers later claims to have gotten hurt while
working on my home? You
as the homeowner can be held personally responsible
for injuries sustained by an uninsured worker while
they are on your property. You can be in a very awkward
position with your own insurance company as a result
of this type of accident. Most people do not realize
this, but it can be verified by a phone call to your
attorney or insurance agent. Always ask for verification
of insurance if you have any doubt. And remember a
contractor’s general liability insurance is
not the same as workers compensation! It is always
best to hire a licensed contractor.
Why is painting so expensive?
Painting like everything
else is expensive. We realize that. In the last 20
years, what we have to pay out in labor has doubled.
The cost of paint has increased about $10.00 per gallon.
Insurance for a business is astronomical. So you are
absolutely right, it is expensive. But not when you
look at the cost of painting compared to carpeting,
fabric, wallpaper etc. at about $25.00 to $50.00 per
square foot compared to painting at about $1.00 to
$2.00 per square foot, it doesn't seem too bad.
What can we do with leftover
paint from prior years?
You can save leftover
paint for touch up if needed. You may never use it
but you can never tell when a surface will get damaged
or you need to make a repair at a water leak. Paint
will stay fresh in a well-sealed can for many years.
It can also serve as your record for which colors
and product were previously used.
How do I select my colors?
When you decide
to have us do your painting project, we will deliver
a color charts to you. This will contain a variety
of colors that you can choose from. We will give you
ample time to make your color selection. We will pick
up the color charts when the project begins. It is
always best to hire a 'color consultant'.
Which paint sheen should
I use?
Paint sheens will
have an aesthetic purpose and a practical purpose.
Choose a sheen that you like but keep in mind that
higher interior sheens are more washable and resist
marking better.
Generally, we use flats for ceilings;
eggshell or satin for walls; satin or semi-gloss for
woodwork. Most of our exterior projects are done with
lowsheen or satin to ensure more durability.
