What You Need to Know About Peeler Poles

A lot of homes have peeler poles outside of their home. Peeler poles are guaranteed to split as soon as they’re out and exposed, even if they are stained and treated properly, they are going to get splits. Should you fill these, can you fill these? Absolutely not, instead it’s best to try and work the stain in as far into to the crevice as possible to try and create the best possible seal to prevent water from entering and rotting out the wood. It is also very important to caulk around the bottom so water doesn’t get around the base and create more problems. Peeler poles with natural finishes may also experience some drying and may need a couple of coats of fresh finish to give them back their shine and last a little longer.
